In a Press conference earlier today 27th December 2016, PNP Chief General Bato Delarosa announced cancellation of privilege leave on new years eve.
The chief PNP instructs Policemen to report to the nearest station in proper uniform where they are located, to be deployed on New years eve from 5pm of December 31 to 5am of January 1.
General Bato reiterated that this is to increase police visibility and deter crimes during new years eve specially indiscriminate firing that have taken many lives in the previous years.
The Chief PNP said if the police officer is far away from his mother unit he or she can report to the chief of police at the nearest station in uniform, he will wait instruction for deployment. He will then be required to seek a certification from the Chief of Police or station commander for his deployment. If he fails to do so he must be ready with proper explanation for his absence.
General Bato also warned that if indiscriminate firing has been reported in an area the station commander or Chief of Police will be relieve of his post. If two(2) station commander have been relieve the District commander will also be relieve, if two district commander have been relieve the Regional Director will also be relieve. He further instructs the Regional Director and District commanders to supervise well their respective personnel.
